Every time people talk about long – term movies, we soon think about big north american names: Walt Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros, etc. We barely see animations from another countries. By the way we barely see any kind of movies from other countries.
Disney launched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, its first animated feature in 1937.
However, the old Soviet Union had launched The New Gulliver , 75 minutes film in stop-motion, still black and white in 1935.

And Germany doesn´t stay behind, having released two stop-motions in the 30s, just before the Second World War: The Tale of the Fox and the Seven Ravens .

Some countries wich have no such tradition in animation films had released at the same time.
In 1941, China launches its first, Princess Iron Fan . Belgium opens Le crabeaux pinces d’or in 1947.
Italy and France are also in the game, with La Rose de Bagdad (1949) e Jeannotl’Intrépide (1950).
Even Japan, known today by the amount of animations produced in the country, began at this time, with Momotaro: Umi no Shinpei (1945).
Itália – La Rose de Bagda – 1949
These countries do not stop there. The Soviet Union has a large film production in the subsequent years, as The Lost Letter (1945) e The Snow Queen (1957).
Japan e China launched more colored movies, as Hakujaden (1958) and Havoc in Heaven (1964).

Here the list is huge: Spain (1966), South Corea (1967), Israel (1962), Sweden (1974), our Argentine neighbors (1970)…
A country that drew attention was Hungary, with very interesting animations. Produced from animation with cartoon style asVuk (1981) , to bizarre animations different, as Fehérlófia (also 1981) .
Hungria – Fehérlófia – 1981
Brazil shows that there are people interested in making animation early. Even with low investment and limited staff, animated films were produced in 1951 and 1972, both without much financial return.

Brasil – Piconzé – 1972
At the forefront again, brazilians were at the beginning of three-dimensional animation, with the movie Cassiopéia sendo produzido na mesma época que o aclamado Toy Story.
Brasil – Cassiopéia – 1996
However, the results only came along with high financial investment. With the success of Mauricio de Souza, were a few feature films of Turma da Mônica, and also a partnership between the author and OsTrapalhões.
